We are lucky to have some very cool sketch designers behind us, Becky Fleck and Queen Geek are just 2 names that will be bringing their talents to this site.
From November we will be introducing a guest designer each week to our already talented design team. As well as galleries full of inspiration for you to browse at your leisure, we also have some great links for you to check out.
What is a sketch?
Sketches are rough blueprints of a page layout, giving scrappers new ideas to use for layouts and cards. Sketches are suggestions about how to divide and use space. They are not hard and fast rules, only suggestions to get your creative mind working. Becky Higgins is the pioneer for sketches and has written 2 books full of inspiring sketches and is a regular contributor to Creating Keepsakes.
Introducing the Design Team
Anna Lousie Bowkis - A regular contributor to our favourite UK magazines and a winner for Best of British 2006. Originally an Interior Designer, sketching, floorplans, blue prints, what ever you wish to call them , have been part of Anna's day to day routine. Anna is the name behind the ever popular range of Angel Kiss flowers and runs Scrapping Angels a new company to be launched in 2007.
Ann(i)e Hafermann - . Papercraft junkie, lover of running and yoga, student of photography, happy momma of two year old Dean (and expecting baby girl end of December), former teacher of biology, wife of (the lucky) Spike, current teacher of anything involving paper and cutting and folding and inking and glueing and preserving memories.Designer and writer for top UK scrapbooking, cardmaking, and papercrafting magazines.
Anam Stubbington - Me and Paper go way back - besides from spending 4 years in University studying it, I trained to be a typesetter when it was all metal type - before the advent of easy to use Quark and Photoshop so I have a huge love for fonts, any fonts and all fonts. I try to be open and honest in my work and fill my layouts with colour and meaning. I have been published in UK and US magazines since 2004 as well as being one of the winners of Best of British 2006. I have recently moved from the UK to Canada and loving every minute of our new life.
Cath Davidson - I've crafted since I was old enough to hold a tub of glue and a crayon, and have both "O" Grade and Higher Art. I tried most crafts and have been an avid cardmaker for over 15 years, but really found my "niche" just over three years ago when I started Scrapbooking. I am also into Altered Art, ATC's and generally anything crafty at all!
Kimmy Sonksen - I started scrapping in December 2004 and can't imagine my life without it anymore. Somehow it became a form of life, my artistic outlet. These days I am enjoying breaking all those scrapping "rules" and have become more adventurous, learning something new every day. Pencil lines will let me do just that , being adventurous, while learning something new!
Sue Deacon - I started scrabooking 18 months ago after doing a layout cyber class on a scrapbook forum. My main subjects are my two gorgeous children!I love patterened paper, brads and ribbons, oh, and flowers! I have had several layouts published in UK magazines. Scrapbooking is my passion and I can't wait to start creating for Pencil Lines.
We look forward to seeing your Pencil Lines creations.
Your first challenge sketch will be posted at 9pm GMT Sunday 8th of October, see you then!
love
