Please give a huge Pencil Line's welcome to the talented Jennifer Hall who is joining us this week as our Guest Design Team member and who also provided this fabby sketch for this week's Challenge. And as a special treat we are including Jenn's original sketch becuase we loved it so much.
Here's a few words from Jenn: "Hey, it's Jen, I am a very busy wife to Will and Mum to my four gorgeous daughters - Lauren (11) Teasha (8) Amelia (3) and baby Marnie (2) and amoungst all their activities of dance, school, tutoring, playgroup, soccer, church and fun - I design and scrap!
I have a double degree in teaching and visual arts, but when we fostered our older two girls I gave up teaching high school kids to focus on the needs of two very special little girls... a few years later our miracle babies arrived and our family was complete.
I have been scrapping for eight and half years now and have been teaching for almost as long! I have been doing numerous things for the Australian scrapbooking magazines for the last few years and last year was deemed a "Scrapbooking Memories Master" taking out the major prize in "best use of colour". I have contributed to design teams, taught classes online, and recently moved to designing my own line of stamps that I hope to have picked up someday.
A typical day for me revolves around the girls and their activities and general "life" stuff, but once they are all tucked up in bed, I head to my studio and create till the wee hours of the morning. For me scrapping isn't an obession, it's a lifestyle! LOL! I lay in bed thinking of layouts, I am always looking at things and thinking what a great idea of layout - even while I stand in the supermarket line! My dream is to one day have my own line of products and a book - one day!
My style never waviers - It's full on! Lots of colour, chunky embellishments, big titles, and texture - I love that my girls run their hands over my layouts and projects, I scrap 12 x 12 always, and love mini books and projects that can adorn my house. I use a lot of fabric, felt and buttons in my projects and more recently my own doodles and watercolours... I love that I am creating a legacy for my family and being able to create my own art is such a wonderful release!
You can see more of Jenn's amazing work on her blog "What I see".
