Please give a big Pencil Lines welcome to the original Bad Girl herself , Wendy Rago, from Bad Girls Kits. Thanks to Wendy for providing us with this weeks sketch, our monthly RAK and for providing the Design Team with Novembers awesome kit to play with this week!
Hi everyone! My name is Wendy Rago and first of all I just have to thank Anna for having me at her amazing site! What a fabulous opportunity!
A little about me…I live in gorgeous sunny Southern California with my husband Peter of 15 years and my two amazingly wonderful children Peter and Angelena. My oldest daughter, Ariana has flown the coop, but I made sure she moved right down the block.
My path along the artistic road began when I was just a tiny one…I can remember always asking for art supplies instead of dolls…it was a passion then, and it has grown now into quite the obsession.
I started scrapping in 2001, when I decided to take a break from the Interior Design firm that I owned. I have now turned all of my creative energies toward my kit club…Bad Girls, and I am thoroughly enjoying the process. My belief in all art forms, is that we must allow ourselves growth, and that is my goal for all of my BAD GIRLS. So many times I hear artists talk of so many fears…they say they are afraid of color, afraid to try a different style, afraid of certain papers, embellishments, etc.
Girls and guys…it shouldn’t be like that and that is where I hope to make a difference. We are here to teach you how to let go of that nasty little inner critic for good. One way will be through my BAD GIRLS KITS…although you may see a set style, I will always throw in a curve ball…something that gets you thinking out of the box. Hopefully something unique, that you wouldn’t normally think of using. I will always challenge you to use all different mediums and textures…this is what keeps it fresh and interesting. I also don’t want you to be stagnant, hence why you will also see different types of kits…so one month might be romantic and vintage and the next month could be funky, graphic, and colorful. With these changes, you will grow as an artist…you will jump over that hurdle! And what could be more important than having fun???
Life is too serious already…we all have our daily commitments to work, our families, and taking care of our homes…so what happened to taking care of you??? It is high time you learned the true meaning of being BAD…it really is all about giving yourself permission to have some good clean FUN…come on… you know you wanna be BAD!!!
